The Fixer wins BIG at FirstGlance Film Festival Los Angeles, Including Best Director and Best Drama

Michael Schilf’s crime, thriller The Fixer earns five wins at the 21st Annual FirstGlance Film Festival Los Angeles 2021. The live Awards Ceremony took place May 23 at Laemmle Theatre in North Hollywood.

The Fixer won in the following categories:

Best Director — Short, Michael Schilf

Best Drama, Michael Schilf

Best Actor — Short, Jesse C. Boyd

Best Cinematography, Shaun Hart

Papaya Films Award, Michael Schilf

The Papaya Films Award

The Papaya Films Bursary, in association with FirstGlance Film Festival LA, provides US-based filmmakers a chance to be awarded a $1000 bursary for their debut short film.

For the first time since its inception, the Papaya Films Bursary was a tie. The Fixer (dir. Michael Schilf) and Witchin’ (dir. Cristina Diamantara) split the $1K award.

Papaya Films is a creative production company based in London, New York, Lisbon and Warsaw.
